Safe Housing. Reliable Power. Dignity for Our Most Vulnerable Neighbors.

No senior citizen should have to choose between paying an electric bill and buying medication.

No elderly resident should lie awake at night wondering whether a summer heat wave, winter storm, or power outage could leave them without the electricity needed to operate life-sustaining medical equipment.

Yet for many low-income seniors and medically vulnerable individuals, energy insecurity is a daily reality.

At Solar is for Everyone, we believe safe housing must include reliable power.

That is why we are proud to introduce Cause #2: the SIFE Resilient Fourplex Fund.

Building More Than Housing

The SIFE Resilient Fourplex is not simply an apartment building.

It is a new model for affordable, resilient living designed specifically for low-income elderly residents and individuals who depend on electricity for their health, safety, and independence.

Funds raised through this initiative will support the development of a solar-powered, battery-backed four-unit housing community that provides reliable, clean energy as part of affordable housing.

The goal is simple: To ensure that vulnerable residents have safe housing and uninterrupted access to electricity when they need it most.

Why This Project Matters

Across America, seniors living on fixed incomes face growing financial pressure from rising utility costs.

At the same time, climate change is contributing to more frequent extreme weather events, including severe storms, dangerous heat waves, and grid disruptions that threaten public safety.

For elderly residents who rely on oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines, refrigerated medications, mobility equipment, or other medical devices, losing power can quickly become a life-threatening emergency.

The SIFE Resilient Fourplex is designed to eliminate that vulnerability.

Power That Stays On

Each residence will be equipped with its own dedicated battery-backed microgrid system.

During normal conditions, rooftop solar panels will generate clean electricity that helps power the property and reduce dependence on the utility grid.

If a power outage occurs, each unit can automatically transition into backup power mode, maintaining electricity for essential services.

Protection Beyond Electricity

Resilience is about more than keeping the lights on.

The Resilient Fourplex will incorporate a range of innovative construction techniques designed to enhance both resiliency and energy efficiency.

Every aspect of the building is being thoughtfully designed to provide a safer, more durable, and more comfortable living environment for residents while reducing long-term operating costs.

These innovative design strategies help provide enhanced protection during severe weather events, improved energy efficiency, greater indoor comfort, long-term durability, and increased resilience during power disruptions and emergencies.

Affordable Living Through Energy Independence

Rather than burdening residents with unpredictable utility bills, Solar is for Everyone will generate, store, and manage electricity onsite as a nonprofit energy provider.

For residents living on fixed incomes, financial predictability can be life changing.

Three Layers of Protection

Structural Resilience – Innovative building design and construction techniques that enhance durability, improve energy efficiency, and provide greater protection during severe weather events.

Energy Resilience – Solar generation, battery storage, and independent microgrids that keep critical systems operating during outages.

Financial Resilience – Affordable housing combined with stable energy costs to reduce the burden on fixed-income residents.

Creating a Blueprint for the Future

The Resilient Fourplex is intended to be more than a single project. It is a demonstration of what is possible when affordable housing and clean energy work together.

How You Can Help

Every contribution helps move this project closer to reality. Every donation helps protect vulnerable residents and create a future where safe housing and reliable electricity are not privileges—they are guarantees.

Join the Movement

Together, we can build housing that protects residents during storms.

Together, we can eliminate energy insecurity.

Together, we can prove that resilient housing is possible.

Because everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

And because solar is for everyone.
